Its a mish mash of models - 68 pan, 63 body, 58 rear gaurds, bonnet off a 61, tail lights off a 57...I just used the bits I liked/needed off each year! :thumb

Hi, which model of 911 are your headlight lenses from? Can you provide their Bosch number for my parts dealer reference? Thanks for help.

Well, I guess thats the risk of posting so many pictures in such a short time - they have the risk of being all lost. These things happen though, I'll try and repost them.

I have to say thanks to Brad for hosting them at the manx club site, it will be easier for me to figure out where I left off!

DasDubber,

Great job. Can't wait to see this car in the flesh.

Just a question on the paint that was chipping on the chassis. I read somewhere that the POR on the chassis was chipping, so you sanded it back and painted it with POR...? I'm confused, can you clarify.

Hmmmm...no idea sorry. I bought them off a mate who bought them off ebay (from the US) a while back. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I originally painted the etch primed pan with Chassis Coat (made by POR15 - I think that is the company name). Depsite being assured by the sales rep that it would adhere well to the primer, it did not....it would flake off just looking at it. So I stripped it back to bare metal in as many places as possible and painted it with POR15 rust preventative paint which is a gloss and not UV stable. However it does have better adhesive properties. So fingers crossed. So far it has fared well for dropped screwdrivers etc on the pan!

That would be the end if I had to start all this work again! Fortunately I have just lost pics and not actual work!

So here goes, get ready for a reload of all pics posted since the last forum back up. If it crashes again I won't be reposting them all....so lets hope ;)

Thanks to a mate, the pan is now stripped once again in readiness for POR15 (not chassis coat this time).

Here you can see half of the roof section done - the reflection is of the pole cross pieces of the temporary carport I put up as it was 'ken hot today.

This pic is a little dark but gives you an idea of the depth of finish...the vw sign just caught my eye as I walked past.

Once I scrounge up enough cash to get the front splits I will make up the custom kick panels which will wrap right around in front of the pedals as well.
