Well, pretty productive weekend mostly - popped the rear apron on temporarily for a trial fit. It will obviously fit better once bolted in place.

Decklid on - fortunately the quick release hinge pins make it easy to get it off (will help when putting carbs in and wiring engine.

Must admit it is much nicer pushing it around the garage and being able to steer it for a change rather than pushing and pulling the front wheels :o

Back to bed so to speak....

Got most of the drivers door back together apart from the quarter window which I have to put the glass back in place (have to make the jig to squeeze the glass and rubber back in). So more fun to come.

Hopefully - Brad from Custom Offroad has offerred them to me which is great! He just has to pull them out and make sure they are the right ones.

Now just to replace the Golde ragtop components that the chrome plater lost....this is proving fun so far...NOT. I have my fingers crossed that a dude in the US thinks he has the right bits!

Well, after work managed to fit the rear quarter interior panels back up...

Also finished sound deadening the parcel tray and rear wheel arches - fiddly but hopefully will be worth the effort!!

11cab the washer bottle was from CB performance - you buy it as a bolt in kit...pretty sweet I must agree.

Rear apron is a repro but does bolt in place with the use of a bracket each side. See here for details:

That was me indeed - it is patiently awaiting eventual installation into my 1964 splitty double door panel. As you can see from this thread though, I kinda got side tracked with a beetle!

After this one is done, I have a 68 beetle (body already done) which I have to finish the body off resto on....so I can sell it.

Then the splitty will start (but that one will take a few years I think!) Actually my dad borrowed the dizzy off your old engine (he has a 64 corvair convertible) to see if the electronic ignition works better than the points set up he has been having troubles with on his engine.

you still have to take me for a drive when you get it going
it was a shame to have the motor so long and do so much research and never hear it run

Hey what are your ideas for front indicators? Will you use some sort of indicators which go into front horn grilles or other?
