That's not the factory air pump. The air pump was directly above the fan, and the shaft & pulley attached to the fan was supported by a bearing which fastened back to the three bolts that the plastic fan cover is attached to.
I have only seen pictures also, so not sure how strong it is, but it wouldn't take much to drive a supercharger would it?

Yes, the US is the place to find them.
