I'd say that they will be fairly important as this is what will keep the rail in place whilst your driving around, as well as vibration.
The last thing you want is for the rail to move and dislodge your roof panel and for it to rattle and leak.
With the speaker in the top corner, you will find that it will drive you crazy (as well as giving you a headache) as you won't be able to have a
decent staging of your stereo.
The higher frequency will overpower all your other speakers almost making them useless.
Hope I haven't ruined your thoughts.....
Cheers

Got it back with another headlining fitted-got a good job done this time-- and have fitted all the sunroof seals and it's in and working. After I
adjusted everything,it was sliding pretty easy with just a small feeling of drag in the guides,so I put some cardboard between the guides and the
headlining and sprayed a small amount of silicone spray into the guides, wow, does it glide home easy now.If anybody is playing with one of these and is
having any issues with adjustments, contact me and I can help out, have got on top of it now.nn[ Edited on 25-9-2005 by nbturbo ]nn[ Edited on 25-9-2005by nbturbo ]

At last-just picked up my pan after it went in on 8th August for a blast and paint. It was ready last Friday, but it looked like it had been painted by
a blind bastard,so had it done again. Can get into action again.Picked up some front buckets last week from a Mitsubishi Starion, so won't have to
wreck mine now. Will strip them down and get them covered in black leather as well as the back seat.Have ordered the leather with the perforations for
the centres and normal stuff on the edges-same as my NB.Looks like this weekend will be for swapping over the front and rear suspensions from the
original pan.

Swapped the front beam over. Got a new Master Cylinder and made up new steel pipes and reservoir lines-need to keep the brake stuff on the other
pan.Pulled out all the bolts I screwed into holes B4 blasting and run a tap thru them all with some some thread compound.Stripped down my Country
Buggy front beam and took it in yesterday for blast and paint. Will put it back onto the other pan when done.

Just finished my 2 rear trims-made new cards and spacers to get the speakers away from the body. Will fit some dynamat B4 they go in.Used some chrome
outside trims from a late Bug-cut them to length and made up some metal threads to attach them.Used some VDO speakers, but paimted the covers grey to
match.

Can't wait to see this finished, it is looking great! Shame you couldn't have used the instruments and steering wheel from a NB, that would have
looked wicked! When you finish, are you going to buy the oval window inserts for your NB ??????

hey Gary, where did you get the passenger side sun visor from?
I'm after just the arm without the visor to mount a Tacho on.
Most people seem normal, till you get to know them.

Vintage Parts California. It's their passenger mounting bracket.I drilled out the rivets and turned the rod over and fitted some new rivets,so it can
then go on our passenger side.Made up a small aluminium plate the same shape with the 3 screw holes which goes on first.I got it with a whole heap of
stuff-someone here may sell them.I think it was about $8 US.You could probably make something similar out of some 3mm aluminium.

Not much progress of late-still waiting for the doors, front and rear lids and the 4 guards to be finished. They are all painted, but have some minor
blemishes,so he is redoing them-but starting to wonder which century.Drew this logo up and had a signwriter do a heap for me in yellow and blue.Think
it represents what an early one looks like using the NB style logo.

Well at last the rest of my bits are finally finished.Got a call this morning to come and pick up the doors and front and rear lids. The guards only
need to be polished and should be done by the weekend.Got both lids on tonight and adjusted and all gaps are good.Fitted some of the badges as
well.

That's for sure-had forgotten what it felt like.I know one thing for sure-next one I do-I will be doing the body work as well. With this one I thought
to save heaps of time,I would have someone else do the body while I did all the mechanical stuff.Well I have done the motor, the pan,all the suspension
and stuff, and then did another pan and modified it for the auto, and still finished long B4 the body was done and still run a business to pay for it
all.Any way will get into it now and enjoy the refit of everything.

Nearly ready to drop the body onto the pan-but had to cut a trap door under the back seat to clear the front of the auto and give access to the front
band adjuster. If I turn this panel thru 180 degrees it fits back perfectly-need to weld some sides to it with a flange all around, then can make it
removeable.

You're doing a Beautiful job on this car... I've got a lot of respect for someone that puts that much work in...
Whilst I'm not a huge fan of late model panels on an early bug, but I can appreciate the look you're going for and the effort you're putting
in...
First time I've seen this thread, but I'll be watching with a smile from now on...
Keep up the good work, really lovely looking car... Well done..

Thanks-I'm a bit like that as well, and I have used the clear ones with the small coloured covers over the globes.I'm also a bit partial to the 4
slot engine cover too(but like the W lids the most).I have a W lid with vents in it that came on the Oval.I might see if I can get a set of clear
lights for the back of the NB as well.
