Nice!So are you happy with the fk87?I'm real happy with my 2332 done over 7000miles now.Raced at the nostalgias,j19,and warrick and a couple of
street meets and some after hours testing.I've been fiddling with the tune ever since and prior to last friday i was totally happy with how it drove
slow or fast it would pull from 33ish mph in top(700mm trucktyres). After running 98 octane since 0 miles i've now swapped over to 91 octane and
CANNOT BELIVE THE DIFFRENCE!!I thought it was smooth before now it will pull from 27ish mph in top it has a lot more power on partial throttle and
with full throttle it revs out so much harder and faster and doesn't seem to nose over near 6600.Can't wait to get to the track it feels so much
faster than before when it ran 13.17@101.2mph,60ft of 1.77.Maybe a 12 second street car christmas thats what i'm wishing for!

Either caltex premium or shell v power.tried 95 ethanol blend ran a tiny bit better but shit milage and ran a bit hotter according to the
hand-o-mometer.Have tried 7-11 91 octane and now bp both unreal compared to the 98 premium. On partial throttle its like its a 5 cyl engine and the
progression is so smooth i havn't changed a thing except the fuel still running 30 degrees timing no pinking no running on even today after driving
in peak hour traffic and it was hot had to be at least 34degrees gave it a real good seeing to and it just screamed thru the gears no problems. So yes
91 octane fuel in my 9.8-1 2332 =power who wooda thunk it.Got
me thinking in a diffrent direction now, gonna get the a/f meter tomorrow and see what its doing.

Col, here is the dyno pull of your engine with air fuel being around 12.4 and peak lean at 13.5. Typically the dyno operator only really gets it
happening 4000 rpm upwards.
This was with 98 and 32* total. You know the jetting.

FK87 is really nice, now I have a better tune in it, I think the 88 crank helps a lot down low in smoothing the powerband a bit. In the last week I
have changed a couple of things, found loose inlet manifold nut on cylinder #3 (it was leaning out) and changed the wiring to fuel pump after noticing
an audible drop in tone when the lights were on ... my dodgy wiring... and added a bypass oil filter holder (jaycee). At least now I can get
repeatable results on the wideband.
Engine will be out next week, and onto the dyno next weekend. Have a lot of stuff to try out to get the max out of it ! Its good to have a mate who
works for an engine builder !!

Quick update...Ran 1.75 sixty foots last night, best time was 12.78@168 ks. More seat time required to get used to the launch side of things and get
some consistency in it,

Good time and 60ft.....I thought 140hp would have given a higher terminal speed though.

Craig, you have to allow for the overall weight, that includes the driver.

I think it ran 104mph in matt's car,
and Cole was using his "witches Brew" that week end too,
so I doubt it was making 140 on that day.

Yes it should go a bit faster than 101 mph, like dave said i was running some special fuel that day that didn't help and my car is so not lowered so
i'm calling very bad aerodynamics for some of the "loss" westie has promised a set of dropped spindles so we'll see if that helps.

| Ooooh dropped spindles Col, about time, you wont regret it. Soon you might be all one colour.
Are you adding kero to your 91 yet??

Spent time on an Engine Dyno on the weekend (drgouk's place of work). Made 196 Hp and 178 ft/lb, with belt and muffler on. Started at 187 Hp so we
made some good gains.
Have been chasing a valve lash problem with the #1 exhaust, found that the pushrod was eating the lifter cup... so Im stripping it down now... Im
confident it will make over 200 hp with the valve train set up properly.
Interestingly we found more horspower with 42mm vents than the 44s that I had in originally...
I am running a steel billet cam - any suggestions as to lifters ? I was looking at the CB lightweight jobbies ?

Recently been using the light Scat with no problems (and removed two engines worth for inspection too)

I used the old black mahle lifters with my steel billet cam, but they are heavy.
The advantage though,
is that Autocraft make a hardened steel lifter cup that slides into the mahle lifter.

Dave, I have lost about .080" in one lifter in the cup area. I have some of the Autocraft cups on the way. Just wondering wether these may be a fix
for my existing lifters ? Only one has this issue...

These should do the trick if they fit inside your particular lifter brand.

Got back to the strip tonight, ran a 12.501 off the trailer, only made three runs but got to a 12.437 @ 170 ks. Shifting at about 6500. 60 foots in
1.654, 1.658. Im really happy with it. It was cooling down so probably a 12.3 in it yet. I have an oiling issue to sort out, idiot light coming on
when backing off over the line... I was running the level at the bottom of the dipstick, and have changed a few things, so need to work that out...
