Sunday

I will pop in for a looky, I am taking the endeavour rally car out to Moogerah on the trailer (which goes straight past the track) and then heading up to the historics at Morgan Park- I will pop in and say hi.

Good luck

I'm entered. My Beetle is a former Endeavour rally car from the 90's.
It shouldn't be too hard to recognise!

Change of calendar - The meeting will be on the 22nd.
I'll be there if I can figure out why the Beetle is running on three cylinders.

On a sad note, Allen Ransome, who has been the scrutineer and also a competitor at these events since long before my time, passed away a few days ago. I always liked Allen. He was always good for an interesting conversation and a bit of helpful advice. He was also pretty quick in that old Mini of his.
My condolences to his family and those who knew him.

That is sad. I remember Alan was one of the first people to intdroduce himself at the first event I did there. One of the many nice people at the club/events that was always willing to lend a hand. I still remember chasing down his mini on day, i was next car after him and my goal was to catch him before the finish... it wasn't easy!

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

my new R1 donk is pretty different to the old one (only by about 9 years) :-)

so,,, we have a little bit more work to fit the thing than i originally intended

I might come out to the autocross this weekend for a look as Beck might run her Prelude :-)

I plan to go and help out for the day. The L Bug is presently a rolling shell only and I've pulled the engine out of the rally beetle, so I won't be competing.
Hope to see you there.

Autocross

What day is the autocross on ? Sat or Sun..

Might bring the Datto out for a trot, as my Subie powered buggy is still a fair way from completion.

My new buggy motor is now mounted, all i need to do now is wire all the injection computer in, (wires bloody everywhere) fit up all the high pressure fuel system, swirl-pot & return line etc, (more bloody stuffing around & more weight) set-up the cam timing (these R1 cam chains stretch in about 5000ks so we re-set them to where they`re supposed to be) , make up & fit the sump baffle plate... (stop the thing loosing oil pressure on hard corners & accel),,, make up the new exhaust system, (great here we go again with another pile of spaghetti pipes all over the place) & then bung all the other crap back on like alloy shielding, front nudge bar, radiator, the new dash etc etc etc,,,, & then we`ll be racing again

sounds easy don`t it ???

http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo201/madmatttheminiman/Photo0118.jpg

getting there,,,, just a few more wires,,, a bit more of a play with the fuel system,,, & i`m making a new set of extractors for the old girl

then hope like sh!t that it actually runs :-)

Edit--> oh & IWMAC has banned my tyres, so i`ll be trying to sort some yoko 175x50x13 A048R specs as soon as i can afford them :-(
