Great to see the progress here ...love the way you have it looking ...can you tell us a bit more about fitting the new seats in ...did you have to do
lots of welding etc to get them to fit or did they just slot straight in
Regards

Thanks AT. There was a lot of cutting n welding to fit the seats. I had a spare set of VW seats I sacrificed the bases off. I had to cut n shut some
height as my head would have hit the roof lol. There are no mods to the cars floor so these seats slide out and in as per factory. So I can refit my
stock seats when I redo them.

I've been doing a few little mods to my 64, airvents in the deck lid, adding some WW seat belts (necessity for track day) and the big one a 2" trans
raise to regain tyre contact patch while still being LOW.
any way heres some pics of work so far.

Thinking of running a pair of Goodyear Billboards 205 or 215s on the rear.

One owner, 5 owners...... They all came off the showroom floor at some point. Nice to see it progressing rather than pulled apart and left to die like
so many others
Big commitment, looking good

Little more progress. I made a new cover for the shift rod coupler.
And changed my original idea for the raised section to sheet metal instead of box section. Theres 20x20 box section bracing across the raised section
and back of fire wall where the luggage floor contacts for added support.

Opinions on red wheels? Had my mate scott come over and we put his wheels on to see how it would look. I like it but I also like off white.

I also now have 4" Jer-fab dropped spring plates that I swapped my 3" ones with Royce. There set at 17° in the above photo but may drop them to
15° will wait and see how it sits with motor etc back in.

I prefer the red over the white. I saw bright yellow wheels with the W/W once, that might look great with the paint colour.
Photoshop games to check?

Raised the top edge of the valance so it looked right and i could run a seal.
finished
Drill holes to make idle mixture adjustments easier. will have grommets in them.
Spark plug wire tube made from seat frame off cut. see the flared ends done with socket extension. can also see my new engine wire harness i knocked
up using delphi connectors. just under the spark plug wire tube is a 2 pin Delphi connector for the pick up in the distributor.
engine harness passes through a channel under the fan shroud and also has a Delphi plug for ease of engine removal. wire harness is wrapped with
modern cloth tape which i think looks cool.
rear valance is removable for easy engine in/out
Lots to do yet but getting there, track day 31st March so need it done!!!
wheels are going to be an off white.

More progress pics.
made additional mounts for the rear valance, also reshaped the rear engine tin to fit closer to the body with new seal.
how it should look finished
Later push button catch fitted, had to remove the panel behind good call to as pretty rusty. Fabed a new catch and welded to the valance.
Next project involved sectioning the trans tunnel swapping bits around metal glueing back together, welded in new shift rod bush mount while it was
out. shortened the shift rod 12.5cm. reason for this is i'm 195cm tall seat is right back so wanted shifter closer to me. had to shorten the hand
brake lever too.
shortened shift rod, before cutting i put alignment makes on it so the shift geometry was correct.
new shift rod bracket silicon bronze welded in through plug welds for easier future replacements.
park brake before.
before glueing
fitted
shifter and park brake test fitted
started body work in the engine bay, should look pretty smooth once shes painted
shows the new catch i made for the deck lid
still needs more lovin ie body filler and sanding
there will be no seal around the deck lid opening as it was the seal is on the deck lid
gear shift video once it up loads
