Hey Das, you really should run a Tacheometric Relay for the Fuel pump, or at least run a relay off the oil pressure switch so that the pump stops in the event of an accident, most chances are you won't be in a state to turn off the pump yourself after an accident.

True, I did think about that - how do I wire one up and are they available from auto electric stores?

Colour coding is too much of a cheap option for you,
but its certainly spray painters masking off material.
Possibly chrome plating them?

You have expensive taste! What can you do with wheels
that is effective but expensive. ;)

Some people may hate them, but I love em.....I wanted something different.....and since I will be the one driving it, who really cares what others think eh? Hehehe...:thumb

Firstly I took them to a machine shop (where I had the spacers made) and had the lips of the rims machined off so they were a flat profile rather than rounded. Because there were some casting marks I then hit them with 360, then 600 then 1200 grit wet and dry to gradually abolish the marks and sanding scratches. Next onto the buffing wheels to polish them up.

Next came the masking tape and paper....followed by some grey metallic base coat followed by four coats of clear. I wanted something a little more agressive than the stock treatment, and something different as I said - I have been looking at the same wheels for a year now and it was time for a change :P

So love or hate em - this is how they will stay!

Anything painted dark, with nice polished metal looks a treat. You've done well. You might wanna be using some lock nuts on them as i think a few people might wanna make them walk!

Cheers everyone - I am stoked how the wheels have turned out especially for a home paint job (these were easy compared to painting a whole car though!!). I just went through colour charts at the paint shop until I found something that I liked - would be easy to do the same to choose your own colour ;)

Hey das you were talking baout the cut off for your fuel pump before. I have one that works of pulses from the coil. So when the pulses become to faw apart the power is cut. ITs for LPG applications, but works great on teh elec fuel pump. and also when ever i switch the ignition on it primes the fuel pump for 5 secs. I got it from leons.

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
