That's kinda like a "shadow chrome" or an anthracite yeh?
LOVE IT. I always think that the silver stuff that most wheels come out in is too light in colour - besides, this colour will hide the amount of brake dust you have on your rims!

you have great taste !!

Nah not just yet - but thanks again to everyone :kiss

Believe it or not it does help to maintain the motivation at times when the will to work on it starts to diminish! Hopefully I'll get them back on the car soon!

Awesome wheels. Great idea man, you should start a new business, Car restoration consultant. Customer comes in with a beat up car and you tell 'em exactly what will look good. Somebody said it, you have good taste and it shows. BUT, why are you showing us the wheels and not the wheels on the car, you got the spacers, put some rubber and slap them on... wll in your own time of course

not sure how to to do it without fouling up the adjuster screws (perhaps they'll screw right out, or you can mask them off or something) but with the finish quality you're going for it'd be a reaaallly good idea to paint up your fuel regulators with something (mebbe if you have some of that luvly anthracite left over, or just a clear coat or two). I have the same ones and it takes about a week of use before they start getting the dreaded flaky white oxidation look. I circumvented it by hitting them with some WD40 after the fact, but they still have that pitted look, and the WD only lasts until it gets good and warm and gets rained on a couple of times. Small point, but they look really shabby on my engine, and they'd stick out like a sore thumb on yours. ALSO they use NPT fittings, which leak like a sieve under pressure, so you'll need to use a compound like loctite 577 to seal them. I had to pull alllll my fittings apart and redo them after leaving great puddles of fuel all over the place the first time I started it. I'm running a Holley black, and I assume the Holley blue has the same fittings.
Just a thought that may save you some grief later on.

This is the first part of the project I've second guessed - I am stoked at the finish of the paint on the wheels but now think I maybe should have done them a little lighter. I guess it's just because they are so different from the original light silver - may take a little time to grow on me.

Thoughts? :jesus

I haven't posted on this topic yet but all i have to say is F*%K yeah. The car is the bomb and looks so sweet. keep it going, i worked 3 years for mine and its on the road, still some performance upgrades to do but i know how it gets sort of like a chore but it well worth it when you get to drive it for the first time trust me. again its gonna be one of the best of the best in my books.

Yep painted the same colour as the wheel faces. I was going to paint detail the crest in black or red/yellow but didn't want to f*ck it up and make it look $hit-house. Best left subtle I thought.

Cheers Peter - thanks for the heads up, I might paint it in engine enamel or something that will be somewhat fuel resistant.

Cheers everyone else - like I said the wheels are probably love it or hate it....but at least they're different which was my primary aim.

hmm. love the colour, though I'd probably have carried it to the rubber, sans silver. just makes it even more individual I suppose :D I do, however, especially like how you removed the rounds off the rims, nice one. It's the little things you know. ;)
