I was up till 11.30 last night trying to get the last bits ready for the upholster. Car went off early this morning in readiness for headliner, canvas ragtop, and carpets. Here is Sasa (our dog) standing guard lookin real scary in her leopard coat!...not. She feels the cold the big baby. :P

Man what a pain in the arse to get the back seat in with the rollcage in place - took about 20mins trying to get the right angle!

this may be a silly question, but right now at this moment, is the car insured?

I'll probably drop in to check progess of the carpets etc but its older than me so I am sure it can look after itself ;)

Not a silly question, yes it is insured under "laid up" cover through shannons which is obviously cheaper since it is not drving.

Not much has been happenning since the beetle is still at the upholsterer - bit of a delay with getting the carpet from supplier but hopefully end of the week it'll be done (hopefully).

Primed, prepped and painted the battery surround in two pack base coat/clear coat like the rest of the car.....should be pretty nice for something that will never be seen! I'll have to lift the back seat up at shows ;)

That's it, will have to wait a while for your next fix.

Stopped by the trimmer today and took a few pics. The canvas ragtop was on - he seemed pretty happy with the quality (from wolfsburgwest) - only two slots for support bows were in the wrong spot.

Pics are a bit dark as there wasn't a lot of light available.

Hopefully tomorrow the headliner will go in the centre section and carpets trimmed up (this has started already). If not ready tomorrow, I should have it back early next week!

Headliner turned out really nice - I am very happy with it. Stuart from All Car Interiors at Windsor (Brissy) does his work well.

There wasn't a huge choice for capets so not super happy with the selection, but it still turned out well.
