well its been another day, and we've made a bit of progress..
carbie is on, running... but idleing at about 4k :jesus
and its SOOOOO LOUD! also not running an air cleaner atm.. need to modify my ram-flo, and hope it fits when i remove the stand off kit (to prevent
water getting in the carb) otherwise it'll be a flat top K&N filter with stand off kit on
shifter shat itself at mates place..i drove from boronia junction to stud park in second or as it's called "first range"
after spening the last 2.5hrs on the shifter with my electrician neighbor we have it working again 100% might i ad i now have a far deeper knowledge of how the shifter itself in an autostick
works.. how/what where and why it engages/disengages... only thing is.. since it idles at 4k, it fucking KICKS going from neutral to anything
REALLY needa book it in for a tune/re-jetting luckily if have all of next week off so if i could get some details off laura or eden, if your reading
my mobile is 0433544929 if u sould sms me a name and number for the tuning guy, much love
also got my centre console the other week (thanks sally:bounce) so i'll maybe put that in over the next week
Peace

tried to get leads today.. reckon i could? no way!
ordered some.. should arrive tuesday morning, all going well
have attributed the idleing at 4k to a air or vaccume leak, so will chuck these old munted leads back on, try start him up and find the leak before it
goes into the shop for re-jet/tune
shifter is playing funny buggers again.. but in a different way now
hopfully it was because of a lack of vaccume when the car started to run on 2 cylinders lastnight
christ this is never ending

once you get get of the initial monstrous hump of problems, you'll be able to fix anything that may happen to it in the future.. and since you did it
yourself, you know you didn't take shortcuts. So that makes your car better than before you laid a finger on it.... unless of course you put it all
back together and then find a spare bolt or two in the floor that should attached to something.... oops

new leads in this evening.. still sounds fucked.. but not shaking.. so i guess it just needs the air filter on now to quieten it a little..
the zoom tube is now sending plumes of white smoke into my neighbors front yard!
and i have noticed the vaccume hose to the dissy isnt connected.. infact cant find the hose at all.. let along know where its meant to go on the
carbie

the one to the dissy is extremely thin.. i have the semi-auto looked up to the manifold.. i had to have the manifold tapped at an engineering place,
cos it hadnt allowed for it. would have been on a manual before my bomb

sounds like the ticket. I'm sure once they get him sorted it will be fine. Don't give up on him, I think he's an awesome car. Once you get the
carbie sorted you'll wonder why you didn't get it done sooner.

adolf is running on all 4, idles after warmed up, and gear changes are smoother than ever, the weber, although not dyno tuned - just tuned to run half
decent gives good accelleration all the way thru all gears making a much smoother ride. only downer is i have NO reverse gear. so car is sitting idle
in the carport till i can find another transmission.
im also running my dissy without the vac advance hooked up i was advised to do this by mate at work, as he reckons the vac advance on an engine that
isnt completley stock can cause pinging? i dunno how this is.. but the car drives great with it not hooked up - just advanced to compensate..
anyone got a tranny for me in melb???
REALLY needa get adolf back on the road, im using jennas car, which drinks the fuel and has tinkerbelle seatcovers and stickers everywhere:|

well its 10 months later and im starting to drive the old fella a bit :|
new gear box was put in by tucker road. and after a few issues after getting it driving again a few months ago all seems ok at the moment.
over the next few days i'll be -
1 sorting out a grommet for air cleaner/carbie
2 fixing fuel filler so i can take corners without smelling petrol,
3 properly securing decklid,
4 getting that pesky spark plug to stay ( thanks chris:P)
5 looking at re-mounting control valve
6 maybe find a good rewireing kit, failing that just hooking up the auto choke again,
tidying up the interior but NOT washing him!
prolly chuck the sun visor on again too
i'll be sure to post piks!!

Carb/Ignition?
Damien,
Are you running the DGEV & 009? Hop on over and check vwar.org to see what Stenis did about the CV hookup. Much better than running a
"T", and good with a 009!
Did Tucker say what let go in your old GB? Sounded painfull at last description.

no 009 sean. standard dissy still.. i'll chase a 009 up though - iv been told theyre the go with the progressive weber.
i didnt use that T piece u sent me.. never got around to it.
tucker road didnt even look at the old box i dont think - i just gave them the one i sourced (80,000 OG miles on it) but i have got the old one still
to have a muck around with. if i ever get the time or inclination
havnt done anything out of my list today yet - been buying furniture and such... working bee tomorrow at chris' place!
adolf has been asthetically fish oiled so dirt sticks, he is lookin nice and ratty
