steering wheel is a flat4 gtv, but not with a standard horn button.
its an optional button rather than the blue one.
alan
the car was painted on the pan so that it could be sprayed and left on there. the idea was that the car would be less likely to get
damaged/scratched/dented etc if we could wheel it straight in and out of the booth rather than have to lift it back onto the pan.
all the fit up was done prior to painting.
and most importantly, it was the way that i was advised to do it (i didnt actually do the work myself)
i have been very happy with the job so i think it was the right way to go

Oh ok, i thought the GT wheels had solid spokes. Saw them in Tokyo for about $500 AUD but too pricey for me looks great though

on.
was very pleased to say the least

yeah, jimbo, im real keen to get it done now.
currently reading up on the car audio australia forum for advice (thanks for the lead alan)
works have progressed alot further than just paint, with the dash panels stained and in, bumpers chromed and mounted, headlight buckets painted.
main areas to go are assembly (lots to go here), wiring, engine assembly (sharpbuilt bits, wiring, exhaust etc), stereo and interior
will take some time, but its getting there |

ruckus:
fronts are 175 55 continentals (damn expensive, but i didnt want anything less than 175s with my extra weight and cb discs). also, i dont really like
the look of thin up front on 5.5s
rears are 205 55 gts
the contis are rear tyres off a smart car. i could have gone with 145 65s which are the fronts, but i decided against it. (too narrow)
with my narrowed beam (70mm) and the discs and increased offset of the american eagle wheels, the front track has ended up looking pretty stock, which
is good. one day i might go narrower again, but its fine for now
what are you thinking of using on yours?
the wheel offset is the critical choice, especially when lowering

Awesome stuff Kim! How good does it look in paint!!!
I am very jealous of your turning circle! Hopefully with my 80mm narrowed
beam things will improve!
Can't say how awesome it is looking...great colour choice (and as said before I knew there was a good reason for painting the shell on the pan - I
wasn't having a go at you, was just curious!).
Keep it up mate, lookin mighty fine.

hey Kim. I've had an absolute nightmare with my tyre selection! started with 195/65s all round (they came with the rims), then went down to 185 on
the front but still had problems with a passenger in the car when braking into a corner. So now I've got michelin 165/80 in the front and 205/65 in
the back. Big problem is that now the car has been bumped back up at least an inch or 2. I know it sounds petty but it has made a big difference to
handling and is FAR from the perfect solution. Thanks for the info and sorry for the tangent.

Kim at least you are able to do the reading before making your selection unlike me who has to work with what I have...which means more money spent
replacing components with those I should have gone with in the first place!
Ah well, there is a lot of good info out there....www.sounddomain.com is a US site but also has a fair bit of info. You're right....lots of reading!!
I'm still sifting through it all.

you should have seen the seats before they were trimmed, wow what a transformation (i wish i had some before and after pics)
anyway, they have come up like new.
and you can also see that the rear seats have been done with pleats to match the fronts
btw, fronts are out of a 968 porsche (mid 80s)

Kim I love the way your've done the interior..... it looks great with the painted pillars and no lining....
OK this may be a dumb question but is the lining meant to sound proof.....? How will this work...I'm sure you've worked all this out .....but I
would love to know...
I love the personalised features.....and SO classy...and unique
