don't go there
for the rivet tool I use a bit of railway track off cut n a small block of steel, as the rim sits nice n flush holding the rivet in place and bash
away above.. works well too

This car is awesome. Been keeping an eye on this build,I remember looking at this bug many times in the yard where it was found I always thought it
would end up rusting away. Good to see it on the road after all the years it was sitting there. Top work.

some serious km's put on it lately, but got this old thing on it, gave it to my uncle years ago an he sold the car an kept it so back it came an on
it goes..
still havnt done the rest of the seats, but got bored so stripped off the caps.
the rain we had had finally made them how i want them.
a little bit of rubbing..
ankor wax an back on again!!!
finally pulled my finger out, had a short day at work so onto the interior
get rid of this!!
halfway
an done
whlie the seats were out, do the cards too..
out with the old an in with the new!
an finally installed
also have had a little cold, a tiny sneeze somehow made the front end fall closer to the ground...
so finally got sick of the dripping box, gearbox that is. not the other one.
an dreaded doin this from the start, pulling off all the things and gettin the engine out.
but sucked it up an away i went.
an out it goes!!
got into it an pulled out the old/original shaft seal.
u can see the diff between old n new, an yes it was cracked b4 i pulled it. hard as a rock an doin nothing!
now to put it all back in.
an done... topped up an also added the stop leak oil stuff, now to see how much it still leaks if at all..
after a long run so it got some heat into it an didnt leak a drop.. cheering

Looking awesome Dion, great look and I love the hubcaps. Well done for a complete look... jealous. Should of been in Raiders of the lost ark.

Assemble
Couldn't tell, apart from the red wire..
Readjusted the timing, took for a drive an feels smoother an a bit more power, added a battery to starter earth too, I've read they play up if u
don't have good power to it, tried with all lights/wipers/semaphores going an no loss of power which is great!!

Capillary stork gauge, all working an in one piece.
dipstick style.
all mounted an utilizing the existing holes so no driling needed.
an works.
god bless vintage speed goodies.. pity the old phone doesnt take good pics
also have a boot jack too from Craig so be interesting to see the difference in temp on the highway..

Lucky it didn't break the glass! What if you just hit it up from underneath and close the gap up. Another piece of character and the guy at work
will feel like a heel every time he sees it!
