Primed ready for paint. Anti chip coating in engine bay.
Anti chip on back side of the valance.
Anti chip in the engine bay.
This is a Deluxe but i wanted the inside roof area like a Standard so i removed the hood lining clips and fully welded C pillars which only had 3
small stitch welds from factory.
Rare photo of me working....
Paint splashing tomorrow.

I really like the standard style interior. I was thinking of doing it myself, but after 2 years of stripping stuff off it I just thought stuff it, I
give up, I'm using a new headliner!
Yours has me re-thinking a bit though.
Nice ride.

After a hectic week I finally got Beryl done. Drove 4 and a half hours to Goulburn...little hick up with a front shock bolt coming out! Got that
sorted.
Spent the next day doing laps around Wakefield and had a Ball!
some still shots from the Gopro, videos to follow.

Thanks Finky shes a work in constant progress $$$ permitting.
Just fitted a CB Performance Magna Spark 11 Digital distributor Leads and coil, made an instant transformation from the get go starts much easier now.
Any idea what rev limit I should use my motor is a 1641 with 1.25 to 1 ratio rockers stock cam and bottom end with twin 40mm idfs?
I set it at 4400rpms and tested the rev limiter lol works a treat

Beryl update
I cut the top out of a oil bath air cleaner to make the bubble in the deck lid to clear full size air cleaner and to make way for the turbo forced air
inlet tubes.
And got these babies off Ritalin boy Isaac.
And bought a Banjo wheel adapter then had a mate make another adapter to fit a sports wheel which i'll swap for a good Momo, OMP or Sparco at a later
time.

Started my 2 months long service so onto sorting out the heaters for my bug. Modified the inlet to the side and capped old inlet. Welded some fixing
points on the sides of the heater boxes to secure the ducting. Mounted the fan above the transaxle.
Just need to wire it up and connect the ducting. Warm toasty cruising ahead!!
Because of the trans raise I had to extend the flap arm thingmjigs. Also fitted new german heater cables.
Fan installed
Wire wheeled the heater boxes then hit with some high temp paint.
To be continued....

Hey, hey Jodie,
Looking fantastic.
Love the detail in your Beatle, for example the head of the bolt holding the transmission strap, and the 356 vent/indicator pieces.
Hope you enjoy, your leave from work.

Hi Jodie...
What was wrong with the standard heater setup with the heat coming out under the rear seat???
I don't know what size that adaptor pipe You made up is, but 68 beetles had something like that , that connected to the plastic convoluted heater
[noise muffler with asbestos] part that connected to the body... I couldn't find any of these adaptors years ago, but I think I've seen new ones in
the past few years.. they may not be the same as what You made but maybe??? I just used 50mm heater hose instead of the convoluted hot air mufflers
but they did work as a muffler as I can hear the engine when I turn My heaters on...
cheers

Sorry for late reply Lee but nothing is wrong with stock heater other then I didn't want the heater tubes in my engine bay for aesthetic reasons. My
heaters still come out of the heater channels as stock only difference is I use an electric fan to blow the air through instead of engine fan.
Mitch good to see you finally back in a VW. And also looking forward to some cool cruises with you n the family
