Very nice mate. What was ur main source of info for the 'how to' with the rag top? (if u don't mind me asking). Its just a nice feature that I
reckon would be great to attempt later on in the long run.

Alan,
you can submit multiple photos per post now - up to three. Just click "Add Attachment" for every attachment you want to upload, and another

Burning it as we speak - I've been kinda busy painting the inside of our house (late night finishes every night - hence why nothing has been done on
the dub!). I shall send it tomorrow.
Mpegs will definitely be uploaded when I get it fired up (hopefully mid-late July).
Thanks Jen - ahh the joys of a ragtop hey! :P

Not too much to report on - finally got around to cutting the thick power and ground cable to length and attached to battery terminals - even got a
bit of an unexpected spark...not used to stuff actually working!
Might try and start thinking of how to sort out the power distribution block for the amps and crossovers for the splits....but time quickly disappears
on the weekends!
Anyway, here is my pooch keeping me company during work this evening - this car is built to be used so she'll be a regular passenger.....she'll love
the ragtop and popouts - lots of airflow....and lots of drool

Dogs look good in the back seat of dubs... My golden retriever looked funny on the back of the notch. When the drive got to long, she just rested

Oh yeah, she can drool pretty well - but only usally when there is food around, otherwise she stays pretty dry.
Although, when she has a good run around, she'll get a bit foamy. She then shakes her head which results in what appears to be a pair of white shoe
laces wrapped around her snout - very attractive!
Anyway, my lounge room is painted and one spare room and carport is almost done.....thought I better update the house reno since not much was done on
the beetle over the weekend unfortunately. :crynn[ Edited on 4-7-2005 by Dasdubber ]

Haven't done too much again unfortunately, but sub box is in and bolted down, and sub is connected.
I am pretty happy with the vinyl/paint combo - turned out pretty nice (in my opinion).

Passenger seat is in - driver's to come soon.
Also the power cable has been cut to length and inserted into terminals and fuse holder. I'll try and make a bit more progress during the week but
not sure at this stage (I am tired of renovating!).

Whenever I need inspiration, this is the thread I come to......
I'm guessing that as soon as the drivers seat goes in there will be plenty of "bruum, bruum" vocalizations coming from the garage ..... just a shame the stereo isn't plugged in yet, then I might be able
to burn you a cd of a volkswagen engine running........ and then you would be away, with a lot less spit on the windscreen |

Don't you worry - the vocalised simulations of engine noises has already started!!
I even sat in the passenger seat and simulated my wife telling me to "SLOW DOWN - YOU ARE DRIVING CRAZY!"
hehehe....only a matter of time before I can enjoy both simluations for real!

Hmm...I hate to estimate as time seems to pass by very quickly. I do have incentive though as my brother-in-law has threatened me with a hefty fine
per day for every day over the expected completion date I mentioned to him - so this is good motivation
I need to paint the front beam in the next couple of weeks then hook up and bleed the brakes. Once that is done it will be ready to fire up (maybe
late this month or early next month). It does depend on how much time I have to work on it in the next few weeks (still trying to finish the house off
- our house on the gold coast settles in a couple of weeks so we also have to find time to pack and move).
So short answer, not sure - it will hit the streets hopefully soon!
