Well I better put in here I guess, I have a type 3 TL fasty, had no Donk, bought a 1600 to put in was missing parts, bought the parts needed to put
back together, saw a thread on V6 conversions, and now am going for the V6 conversion with a VN V6 3.8 Ltr, am picking it up on Wednesday, If you want
to see were Im roughly at check out the Post "Salutations" under the Type 3 Forum, My second Fibreglass mould is almost complete for the air intakes
on the rear quarts and have just built a portable wooden sand blast booth so I can REALLY clean the front suspension and other bits and pieces, can
fit up to 15" rims in with no tyre obviously. I bought the air sand blaster set up from super cheap's and am in the process of making a catchment
setup under neath the booth so I can filter and re-use the blasting grit. LOTS of Rust to repair especially in the front bay and the front pillars
just inside the wheel arch, rusted through to the interior, Inside of car is stripped, ready for Roll Cage, and Fibreglass mouldings. Was gonna Chop
the roof and lower but thought better of it. All in all Alot of work but man am I enjoying every single little bit of it, especially all the custom
bits i have to engineer to get the jobs done with out paying BIG $$$$$$ at panel beaters and mechanics and the like. Will post pics in here soon.

I am after as much info as posible as to what parts i need to keep when striping the subaru of its goodies.
I want to still run the bus with an auto box ( What is the best box? ) also where is the best place to buy any parts required to do this conversion?

Purchased a Joyner Trooper last year, nothing but engine and mechanical problems, so short of setting it on fire when the last disaster happened, the
drive shaft universal let go and put the shaft through the oil pan, I tore the entire power and drive train out and am now fitting the buggy with a
type 1 tranny and 1725 air-cooled. I figured since VW is the first choice for buggies dating back over 45 years now, why not power and drive it with
what started it all and has proved to be very sucessful.
Anyone else that may of done this please email me and and let me know how your conversion turned out.

Some reader sof the Non VW conversions will recall ym Tweety the trike. Original engien a 1916cc twin carbs (type 3 auto) that I had no end of
trouble with the engine. Then an ea81 conversion weber carb. Silly me- should have gone eJ20. On a dyno the auto zaps 14 hp out of the engine and
towing a 500 kgm van it wasnt the best. So a SC12 supercharger was fitted draw thru at 5psi 135mm crank pulley 110mm driven pulley. It now has all
the low down power I wanted but at great cost to economy. Running all the time it gets 19mpg light foot or heavy foot. (throttle that is)
So have purchased a SPFI system (ea82 bolt on) ex USA and have a Subie friend that will help me fit it. Once set up this should see me get good mpg.
And if I feel inclined will refit the sC12 supercharger in a blow thru set up with on/off switch. I also have a free EA81 for reco that will be fully
recoed early next year for the whole project to be finalised.
And here is the trike when pre supercharger
