Hey !
I always dial in my cams!!!!!!
I have been working with my cam guy trying different grinds and settings. A lot of R&D for maximum power.
It always about the journey not destination.

And thanks for all the positive coments guys, I have to do some work for the Vic day of and then another cam change.

Yes video is cool.
in 5 years it's good to watch.

The most important thing for me is I can study the car after, also I never get to see how the car works from the outside.

Over the years I have tried 15 different cam combos in my car.
As you said it is the journey not the destination.
Makes the job a whole lot easier when you can drop the sump and do it in the car though.(always dialed in)
In my old VW days, with mag case, I just removed the one side of the engine and went that way.
Yes I agree, every cam must be dialed in. I used a BIG Scat cam once (292@.050),
and had to install it one tooth advanced to get it in the right spot.
You can imagine how crappy it would have run if I just "lined up the dots"!

By "dialled in" I meant 'figuring out what works for the job'.... Not in the 'timing' sense but in the perfect combo sense.... You dig?..... But you guys knew that..... Its gentlemen like you two (and the Henry's, Michael's, etc...), who go the extra step with your projects, that makes it EZR for all of us 'normal' dubbers to make the right decisions in our build ups....

Keep it up....

Hey Dave,
You are right, I only remove 1+2 side and the rockers and push rods from 3+4. Call me ruff but there is no need to waste time.

Video of the drags

I installed a tacho and shift light. What a waste of money, I didn't even look at it and I don't even think I calibrated it properly.

Not happy with the cam as I was trying new Ideas. You can hear it falling on it's face just after the launch.
I have spoken to my grinder today and it is being ground as we speak. I promise no bogging next time.

Enjoy the vid guys.

Check out the inboard footage, it's not that bad inside. I think it looks worse than what it is. But anything over 100mph should really have a wing on it seeing how a bug is shaped like an aeroplane wing. At 128mph it does get light in the rear end and I have seen quite a few in the states roll in the top end. A cage would be nice.

Its looking like you mighty close to crossing the centre line there!.... Was it skating a bit?.... Like drifting across the track?.... A wing would just ruin the look of that car.... I sent the link to that movie to Franz @ KCW.... He loved it!... But did say it looked a little hairy!....

LOL!

not interested in opening a can of worms as there are too many different opinions on the matter , but too clarify Humpty ,

Waynes signature represents Australias fastest STREET REGISTED VW at the 2005 VW nationals , where it was undoubtably the fastest there . This represents an air-cooled VW that is engineer approved , street registed and street driven .
If there is anyone out there that can prove that there street registed VW is quicker , then I will change it .

Nicks PRO-STREETER is an amazing car and a real credit to him , but I dont think it is a street registarable vehicle . Maybe Nick can clarify this ? Maybe it is in Victoria ?

Good luck Nick , and I hope you go 10's real soon..........
