well the alternator is back in the car and the charge light goes out, turns out the sparky that wired it up the car put the wire for the light on the
wrong terminal. i have a tilt tray picking up the car tomorrow morning and back to the dyno and hopefully i can get it back friday arvo, they said
that shouldnt be a problem and then i will have it at the gold coast show.

oh well, no luck at the dyno, after the manifolds were reassembled prior to the dyno i couldnt find any 48ida gaskets so i just used master gasket in
its place but once on the dyno and under boost it blow the sealer out, so a waste of time and money on that trip so have just finished making my own
gaskets out of 1.6mm thick gasket paper which seems to have worked but now i need to reset the idle speed as without the air leak it wont idle. will
have to rebook the dyno and try again.

Well the drama that is the life blood of this car didn't show it's ugly head today. Instead it behaved itslef and made the trip to the Gold Coast
nicely and cruised really well on the freeway with temps under 100 degrees oil temp. troy was happy with that and also stoked to get a trophy. Judging
was peoples choice with the Top ten cars voted for given the trophies and he was one of them.
Here's a few pics of the Type 3 from today....
So glad we took the quick shade. 30 plus something degrees and ridiculous humidity made it very sticky.
On the freeway on the way home with someone tapping away to some tunes happy with the win....
Trophies from the show...(look at the clown in the reflection lol)
Plaque on trophy.

Nice photos mate, going to the dyno tomorrow to hand over some hard earned and to rebook the car once again to get the tune sorted out as she still
not right(breaks down under boost) and also to add some more boost to it again, hope those gaskets i made hold up. Once thats done it will be time to
fit my new hydraulic handbrake/stage brake which i should have this week sometime. The work never ends, there will always be something else to
do...lol

thats ok i have big shoulders, i am currently making up some air intakes to direct air flow straight to the oil cooler above the gearbox. The temp
after the run to the gold coast show was between 90- 95 degs and if i gave it a little squirt it jumped straight to 100degs and stayed there, so i am
now trying to pull some air from under the car via some great pvc fitting i sourced and see what difference that makes. I have sent brennden a couple
of picks, as i trial it before i make it look a bit better. hopefully i can get both sides done over the weekend and take her for a spin and see what
the gauge reads.

Just a quick Qu. Have you found your gearbox bracing has helped a lot? I've got a mate with a late notch and we were talking about a similar mod for
his car to help the stiffness of the rear end.

yeah i wouldnt put big horsepower through the gearbox without bracing like i have. i have also taken the whole rear housing out and replaced all
rubbers with solid aluminum to go along with the gearbox mounts and its really tight now and you feel every engine surge and jurk through the whole
car. I will only say i hope he has plenty of time to make it as i takes a fair bit of time and measuring, welding, grinding and the like. If he is
planning to drive his car regularly he might want to have someone make some rubber mounts as its not nice to drive around town..

well i have bitten the bullet and purchased a laptop so i can try and save some money by tuning the car myself, it has turned out a little harder than
i thought as i have no idea on how the program works but i will see if i can talk to a few people to se if they can help me out. the main issue at the
moment is it drops onto 3 cylinders at around 8psi and 4500rpm which is really annoying so hopefully we can tune this out so i can head to the track
for a run...

Well finally started doing some more work on the car again, i have cut out the old handbrake which wasnt connected anyway and welded in the bracket
for the new hydraulic handbrake. I bent up some new brake pipes to suit and had a few flares done at the brake shop while purchasing some fittings.
Finally cut through the rear brake line and joined everything up. Bled the system of any air and took for a short test drive and all seems good. I
will post some pics soon. Aaron Roberts is coming up on saturday to connect his laptop to see if we can get a connection and try and sort out a few
lettle issues. I am wanting to get the car out to willowbank for a few runs and hopefully back to the dyno to up the boost before warwick this year.

Yeah he was with laptop, gas analyser etc etc and unfortunately problem is "unusual" to say the least and nothing they did made any real difference.
Aaron is investigating further this week for some more info...

yeah aaron was here yesterday for the whole day sitting in the passenger seat as we drove around the neighbourhood trying all different things. we
found it running lean around the 3,500-4,000rpm range so we went in and adjusted the injectors to fatten it up there which showed up as rich on the
new log but still was breaking down. after several hours of this we took the plugs out and closed the gaps down thinking maybe boost was affecting the
spark which made a small change but still breaking down, the break down is much worse under more throttle and load. we now check the boost settings
which were all set correct so we went out again and found the ecu logged the boost pressure at approx 23.5psi but it is set to only 15psi and is able
to go over that by 3. Now we made adjustments to the external waste gate and dropped it back as far as it could go, so now it shouldnt make more the
maybe 7-10psi but still logged 143kpa or around i think 17-19psi which doesnt make sense. Aaron then disconnected the autronic boost controller making
it a full mechanical set up and still logged 143kpa so we are running out of ideas. The only thing left to check is the rising rate fuel reg but that
still doesnt explain the boost issue. Aaron is going to see Matt at burleigh on monday to pick his brain on were else to look. Anyone else got any
ideas, feel free to comment cause im over it.

I would say one injector is bogus.
When you richen the whole system it will show rich on that sensor but one injector is still bogus.
Boost i probably just incorrect calibration of the autronic's guage.
