Colgate Toothpaste imported from South Africa sold at Woolworths
On the shelf with all the other tooth paste with no sign of it being imported from South Africa
The other day I brought some colgate tooth paste the one I have been buying for years now. An elderly couple at my local Wooworths said what I was
thinking that they change packaging all the time. I didn't think anything of it until I used the toothpaste and it tasted crap so I read the
packaging and it comes from Nairobi WTF was I puting in my mouth it also says in very small print on a little sticker This product has been Directly
imported, the formulation & taste may differ from products generally sold in Australia.
I'm taking both lots of it back to Woolworths tomorrow and getting my money back and buy some that comes from Australia SO BE CAREFUL. What a shock
they should have on the tags at the shop that it's imported from africa. If I want to buy that shit I would have went to the $2 shop.

Multinational corporation conglomerates. Hmmmm.
I read all labels and prefer to look for
Australian made
Australian owned
Organic
Non processed
It is very interesting to read the labels.

I used to work in an import fruit and vege processing centre. Amazing how much came from overseas of all sorts...
including the classic garlic from china,
oranges from US,
even kiwi fruit from asia, and stone fruit.
Grandad back on the banana plantation (back in the day as a kid) used to always complain about the overseas produce getting the preference over aussie
stuff. Often it wasn't advertised in an obvious manner that it was from overseas, but moreso the overseas fruit/vege always looked more presentable
compared to australian produce in general due to the Australian produce having to grow in far more harsh climate, attributing to typical scratches or
marks on the outter skin from rain, storms, hail, wind etc . Which naturally doesn't affect the produce contents quality, but the presentation.
I guess a hot chick in a fat man suit isn't as nice as a hot chick in a bakini... kinda follows the same principle.

Try Cedel toothpaste. It only comes in one flavour and doesn't have useless gimmicks like colgate but its Australian made and owned and works just
fine. I buy mine at Coles but I'm sure woolworths would also stock it. You might have to search the shelves for it tho, I know at Coles they put it
way down low on the bottom where it's barely visible.

If you are serious about buying Australian, you have to be wide awake. The lengths some importers go to to deceive is amazing, and not just in the
food line.
Years ago, when I was making my Mac-Rac bike carriers, there was an almost identical copy [made in Taiwan] around. It even had the 'Australian Made'
sticker like mine!
Be vigilant, like Rose.

Just another reason i dont shop at coles or woolies.
We allways go to inderpendent fruit, butchers and fish shops. May take a little longer and be a bit of a pain but we feel better helping the little
guy. For other stuff we go o aldi. Not aussie but way better option than the big 2.

I found the same thing. Tasted like crap and I took it back for a refund. The only reason they would do that is to cut out the profit of the
Australian manufacturer yet the price on the shelf is the same as the Australian made toothpaste. End result, more profit for Woolworths and less for
Colgate Australia and if it continues like that, Colgate will decide it is not profitable to make anything here and start importing everything.
I am with Bob Katter and his stand to break up the Coles/Woolworths dominance of our shopping.

Doesn't surprise me, I saw a show about a similar thing but the product was "COKE" (the drink) and there were different ingrediants for the OS mob.
But they could buy it cheaper so they started bringing that shit into the country.
As I think we all know, our country has gone down the gurgler and I feel it is only going to get worse.

So much stuff is outsourced these days, nothing seems to come from it's original country of origin anymore.
I'm looking around at new VWs at the moment and it's surprising how many come from Mexico and South Africa.
Similarly A mate took delivery of his new Nissan Navara a few weeks ago and I was surprised to see it's manufactured in Spain, luckily mine came from
it's correct motherland in Japan

blunnies made in chinka land huh
wtf then??
just had a look at their site n only the gumboots are still made here
god dammit
well I have 4 more new pairs awaiting wearing, so in about 10 years I'll get some Aussie ones..
However a lot of 'authentic' german made VW parts and 'Italian made' webbers sold in this country by 'apparent' reputable resellers (no names)
are made in china..
that's a fact

Blundstone blamed labour costs for moving to Asia.
They need to have a good look in the mirror at their management. Nothing but a pack of halfwits. Good product but very hard to buy if it is not in
store. It's a bigger lucky dip than ordering from Tooley's!
I tried many times to buy Blundstones and then gave up. It's a shame as they were quality boots when made in Tasmania.
Hold on I thought that this was about Australian made!
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!
