$900k is just frikken nuts, and it's all down to the rarity !!!

:spin:

I crawled all over build #1 at the Sydney Motor Show back when they launched, and yeah... the gear and engineering on it was worth every sent of the $220k planned asking price. The fact that a basically stock one took out the Bathurst 24 hr kinda proves it I think. Anyone know the price tag on the Merc's and Audi's that it thrashed ?

:smirk:

Oh and yeah - anyone who's driven a V2 even slightly aggressively will know they're a LOT more than just a two door Commodore... even with just a stock LS1 up front.

Having a race beetle is cool, but ahh... I still miss my GTO.

Man i am a huge Porsche fan, I once knew nearly all the specs to each well know model of Porsche there was. thats how I got started on type 3s since the resemblance was pretty close when I first came across one.

As they say - Porche = Sports Beetle.

My wife has always dreamed of a 356a Coupe. I am slowly convicing her that a Karman Ghia is just as good.
(Cause I can only not afford them bu a lot instead of a shite load).

I could never see the resemblance between beetle and porsche.

fastback and KG were the closet looking and the type 4 and 914 were obviously the most mechanically imo looking to the porsches.

356? sort of bug looking but more of its own thing imho.

my dream Porches would be 1978 930 turbo 3.3L , 1973 914/4 and I wouldn't mind a 935 moby with 900 odd Hp

944 Turbo S and 73 Carrera RS 2.7L on the wish list too lol:lol::no:

There was a magazine article comparing them in America and the Ghia did really well against the 356. I think it was car and driver or something like that.

As for the dunnydore, tell im he's dreamin.

It is just a 2 door dunnydore, if you scratch one, the other one bleeds.

If it sells for that then it is worth it to someone but I can't see value in spending 30k on one let alone 30 times that price.

I am no expert on the monaro but isn't it a totally different chassis to the crumpledoor? I thought the monaro was pontiac based or something?
