Removing kombi body from chassis? Can it be done?

Maybe a stupid question but can you seperate the chassis from the body on a kombi (74 bay)? The chassis is no less than perfect and rust free, the body is shot and due to go to the scrappies, I thought the rear suspension and chassis might make a good basis for a trailer but not sure if you can get the chassis off the body without cutting the whole thing up. Seems a shame to waste a nice chassis - anything I should look at keeping or bits that are sought after? Cross members, rails, jacking points etc etc?

search youtube (Or DSK) for 'Banana Bus'.
A crazy split owner has done that to his bus. He plans on rebuilding each section and stitching it together again which would take serious skills. Give you an idea of what is looks like at least.
