You have to have extractors fitted. They bolt right on. Go for it!

depends on what size motor you are running and carbs etc..... but having a stinger will be illegal on the street

All cars must be fitted with an effective muffling device, noise cannot exceed 95dB, and the stinger presents a hazard for cars and pedestrians

The stingers stick out a long way and they are hot enough to burn people. That alone makes them illegal for safety reasons. They also don't do much
muffling, so your car will be too loud. Those twin tubes you linked to also look like they will be too loud to be road legal in Australia. You need
something with actual mufflers in it, like a "quiet pack" exhaust, or a hide-away.

In terms of buying from the US, I've previously had good service from VW Parts Unlimited (now Pierside Parts) and they had the cheapest shipping at
the time. USPS is usually a lot cheaper than FedEx.
I have a sidewinder on mine, it's a nice exhaust and fairly loud. Mine is a bit big for a standard engine though, I think the sidewinders are more
designed for big bore engines.

Just buy the empi merged headers(not the ones pictured above), and a phat boy mufler. Then the stinger you could buy for 80 odd dollars. Buy from
George at classics will be cheap. BUT, you will loose your heaters.
A better option would be an A1 sidewinder including mufler with 10mm flanges from Vollks.com.au they used to sell it for $300 bucks on special, do
your research, you shouldn't be spending more than $400 bucks. Good luck

I paid $550 for my sidewinder at the Adelaide Day of the VW 2 years ago and it doesn't even seal to the head flanges! Oh well...
On a daily driver I would really recommend keeping the heater boxes. They are technically a legal requirement for demisting purposes, and they are
worth having if you take it out on a cold winter's morning.

Those ones on the volks website aren't A1 sidewinders, just copy versions.
