Hi

They usually only come in 90 mm, I played around with this idea for my new 1303, it was all too hard so I went to 911 headlights, Im running Aero so they take a early Beetle headlight rim which is similar to a 911.

Hella sell 90 mm module but are for a single beam only, you can get a bi xenon unit from Hella.

I bought a Xenon Hella system that was made for a Audi A3, it had a levelling system.

Just be careful buying from Aus suppliers.
A lot of them sell these thing as "projectors" even though they arent proper projector lights.

I had a pair of them on mine for a while, great high beam but terrible low beam.

You're thinking of HIDs Lee. Changing the type of lens that is in the light shouldn't be illegal. It's the high light output from HIDs that is illegal if they aren't self cleaning and self leveling.

Hi

In my sons 1303 I have Hella H4 semi sealed beams with Narva Plus globes so no wiring upgrade is needed.

I think these are best you can get, not many companies do research like Hella.

I've fitted dodgy stuff in past and they don't come close to these Hella lights, the Hella 911 lights in my bug are brilliant even with stock 55/60 globes.

Your original question was about projector lights, I don't know if they are worth the trouble and xenons must have self leveling.

I am running the Hella H4 semi sealed beams in my L bug as well, but with 140/100 quartz halogen globes, and they are great - a lot better than the lights in my wife's Bora. I do have a good relay for them though.
