Please tell me your putting these on a car to keep it a historically accurate restoration. Putting them on anything else is just plain stupid, unless you happen to be a neo nazi..

And the tiled floor of Brisbane's historic city hall building. These have been round long before the nazis.

Swastickas have outer extremities that go in different directions. These all flow the same way. Not the same thing.

The 45 degree black swastika on a white disc with a red background is Nazi. All other variations or similaritaries are irrelevant

So any similarity these have to a nazi swastika is purely coincidental? From a design for a german car produced under the third reich government???? The original poster obviously thought they were similar from his post title....

I'm not unaware that swastikas weren't invented by the nazi's and that this is a highly stylised version of it, but don't try kid me these hubcaps are simply using some buddhist symbol of whatever of it is.

Each to their own..... :D

Why is everyone getting upset about swastikas? It's history ffs.

If it wasn't for the Nazi party we wouldn't have Volkswagens.

ANYWAY......as per the link, you can get them on the samba.......... I like them !

They are the flying cog, it was part of vw's branding back in the day, not a swastika......I like stickers !

Here is a question or two for the historians.

The 'Flying cog' symbol with VW in the middle of it, as shown above.

Was it ever stamped on a production KDF wagen or war vehicle anywhere?

Was the Volkswagen name or VW symbol used by Nazi Germany during production of the KDF wagen or war vehicle?

So to clarify my post, i have a beetle which has 1 of these hub caps damaged. So i googled beetle hub caps in images. I searched through all d images until i found the pic above and it was called flying swastica hub caps, hence my post title.
However now i've learnt it is called a KDF flying cog emblem.

The cog symbol was used on some pre 50s parts. Rear spring plate covers were one place they were stamped. The side on the air filter was another. I'm no expert on the matter, just observant I guess. I have a gas cap on my 55 that has the cog symbol on it. Anyone know of any more?

Pics help a lot.
So does the gas cap have the cog on it, or is it just the later replacement cap with the coarse grip on it?

And yes I know before I get told off that the KDF hubcaps were not Swastica's and the swastica was not a symbol of the Nazi. This bus is a bunch of Buddist Monks obviously......

That's post war and not even in Germany. Neo-Nazi's have always used the swastika with the 1930s meaning attached to it (and yes the most well known meaning) but if it was 1910 theu may well have been monks :p
