Wanted: RHD Karmann Ghia dash

I am looking for a RHD Karmann Ghia dash (for a Type 1 Ghia), I am not sure of the differences in the dashes over the years but I think 1963 or earlier will do the trick. Will need the dash and glovebox lid, no need for the gauges.

PM me if you have something that may work.

They are pretty much unobtanium. If you have a left hand drive car now, you would be best to just cut out the instrument section and move it across to the other side along with the pedals etc. Jerry Heldt from Karmann Ghia company of Australia over in Perth has glove box kits that you can then weld in to where the instruments were.

Good luck

looked into this when i was building my car. a guy on gumtree wanted $2300 for a RHD dash that was from a 60s model (2 big gauges) and i have a 71, and the price was ridiculous.. but i guess he knew it was unobtanium.

good luck with the search.

Try posting on http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/index.php  there were many right hand drive ghia's in the UK that have suffered a death from rust, i have seen a few being wrecked over time.

You really only need the glove box lid and surround, the factory rhd dash is just cut & shut left to right

What Yogi and Matt said.... Best option and not too hard to do... Just measure, measure, measure, then cut.

Vic from Vicsbahn in Sydney had a S/H dash for sale recently for $1500.

But the Kit from Jerry in WA and cut and shut your guages across is actually less cutting, less welding and less cost???

Cheers,

David

Well I'm on the hunt for another RHD Dash
I was buying one from Vic from Vicsbahn
But he has lost it.

So anyone got one they are willing to sell.
Prefer metal.

Thanks,
Tony
