T25 Pop - Top Conversion

Is there anyone out there who knows if it is still possible to have a pop - top conversion for the T25/T3?
I have searched all the internet etc and cannot find anything or anyone???

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I used to service a couple of pop tops,I remember one in particular that wasn't secured very well and the wind used to roar in as the top lifted off the turret with wind pressure. I have a sunliner pop top off a 76 Bay but it would mean an engineers certification to modify the vehicle anyway.

They no longer exist.

You will need to buy a wrecked van one in Sydney did have a Camperize or Discoverer type roof mould from which I had mine made but I think someone enquired recently and they had tossed it out as it got badly damaged by an idiot on a forklift in the factory.

You could enquire - they may give you a different story.

Mine looks like this:

I was starting to wonder that they no longer exist as I've searched all the Internet and had no look.
Your van looks great, it's not for sale by any chance is it?

Sorry Carter.

I'm hoping to be buried with mine.

My computer randomly edits things - I meant to say Nose Cone in Sydney had the mould.

They make truck air deflectors mostly but they eventually did a great job on mine (took them 3 goes to get it right).

Camperize are still listed is some web business listings, but don't appear in the latest Business and Govt phone book.

Trakka used to make pop-roof conversions of the T3, but I don't know if they would still have their own moulds.

Discoverer Campers (who evolved from John Terry the Kombi King at Homebush) were located at Milperra in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They were taken over by Tysons Pty Ltd and moved to the former Fenner factory on the corner of Milperra Rd and Edgar St Revesby in 2004. They had quite a collection of fibreglass pop roof moulds, including VW T2 (Sopru copy) and T3, as well as Holden Shuttle, Mitsubishi L300, Hiace anbd Nissan Urvan. They were all thrown out when Tysons went out of business in 2006.

Now a different company. The original (who made the mould) was Chris Band and Richard.

They were the Camperize moulds that Scot used (now gone).

I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!
