oil pressure problems
hey guys got something weird happening my oils pressure last week went through the roof then today has dropped on the guage now this is the weird
thing when it goes from 20 to 25 for a slight second on a flicker on the guage the idle drops a little as if the engine comes under load
any body got a clue what might be the problem

double check with a different gauge, mechanical one directly on the engine.

okay I opted not to buy the gauge only because of the rpm difference when it rises 5 psi the motor loads which cant be gauge problems weird as if it
keeps up tomorrow ill have to buy the gauge

Yeah, try a mechanical gauge to confirm. Maybe it's electrical???

maybe a bearing problem, causing it to block an oil gallery (or close up the tolerances) and increase the pressure............the engine load is it
trying to seize. Hopefully I'm wrong though !

im thinking you might be right craig ill start it up tomorrow and see how I go ill hook up a gauge if it keeps going that way but I think craig might
be on top of it

Also but unlikely is the shaft intermittantly spinning in the oil pump gear, the rpm drop is an odd one, is it very many rpm?

with out having a tach on board around 100-250 rpm, wow the oil pump I thought if it was buggered it was buggered never heard of them spinning on the
shafts but when you think of it, it's possible just filled it full of oil doh ill check it as well when I have the time thanks guys for your help.
