[FS - NSW] 1975 L Bug...........sold
I am selling my L bug.
After 9 years of ownership I am going in a different direction
My Vanagon was written off by a drunken driver and I am missing owning a bus
Name Barry Agnew
Price $9,500
Located Abbotsford 2046
Phone 0499 658 561
This car is a good solid base. It has been (and still is) daily driven since I purchased it in November 2004. It is a rack & pinion 1303 1975 L
bug in Martini Olive. It has battle scars and is no trailer queen show car but is a damn fine vehicle that gets comments everywhere it goes
Richard Holzl has helped me make this a wonderful street car with a track edge. He has put a heap of work into the suspension on this car
Stirred - not shaken.
This car is not stock. It has a firm but enjoyable ride with a torquey motor
Just been registered to 30/11/2014
Engine
1916 built by Peter Shelley originally with new 40 x 35 heads about 30 months ago by Richard Holzl
68 RWHP (CBB dyno) but we have tweaked since then - so guessing an honest 70 HP
Dual 40 DRLA Dellortos with update kit and CSP linkage
Ceramic coated side winder exhaust mated to flanged ceramic caoted heater boxes
Scorcher electronic ignition
Suspension
new poly bushings, ball joints through out
V Force lowered struts
Berg Style semi solid mid mount gear box mount
KYB rear gas shocks
Porsche Boxster 16" (6" and 7") wheels with near new Pirelli P7 tyres with spare Porsche wheel that fits wheel well
Correct 5 x 130 PCD rotors and drums. Uniform thickness - not drilled blank 4 bolts
Type 3 rear torsion bars
Interior
Recaro seats on recaro base with VW tracks
New TMI trimmed rear seat
re-skinned dash
1303 clock
CSP shifter
rear speaker shelf
CD / radio with Aux / Iphone input
Momo steering wheel
Heads up speedo display
New Hemco retractable front seat belts and static rear
Body
recently resprayed
mexican rubbers
Pop out rear windows
new laminated windscreen
aluminium running boards
1303 L badge
rear lid rain louvre
integrated driving lights
new Hella tail lights
Original propper chrome bumpers with rubber strips
Generally I have all the original bits as well - windows, suspension etc etc
Most of the story is here

Someone is going to get a nice ride.
I always wanted to check this one out in the flesh. Doesn't look like I'll get to do it while its still in Abottsford.
GL with the sale and don't sell it to anyone who won't appreciate it.

I was very disapointed to miss this one, hense my WTB ad for a similar one.
I had planned to inspect the car on xmas eve when I will be in Sydney, but alas, I was too late.....
It took me while, but I finally have the go ahead from SWMBO for another toy, so the search is on in earnest (before she changes her mind).
Thanks to Bizarre for answering my many questions when making enquiries. Good luck in looking for your next Kombi project.
Cheers.

Hi all, I am the proud new owner of this bug and I must say it is one sweet ride. I can't wipe the smile off my face every time I drive it. The
handling is superb and the engine just purrs. Absolutely loving it.
