The only way possible would be with big sponsorship given my salary. The Penrose family interested in a US baja 500 or 1000 entry? Smiley and I both have useful qualifications :D. Good way to get exposure for any business.

There we go! We got a tried and tested car, 3 man crew... Maybe a few more...

we just need that sponsor to pay for the freight to US and tickets. I can rough it on beans/tins :).

We'll put the sponsors decals on the car and print em' on bowling shirts for uniforms.

Frog would die if i brought her haha. it shakes in fear when it sees a 100kph sign (that'll change soon hopefully!)

Much as I would LOVE to, until I am part of a 2 income family again there is not much I can commit too :'(
. Might I suggest it would be cheaper to buy a car over there, as mine wouldn't be competitive in the class it would be in. Class 11 and class (5?) is where its at

Umm... might have found a possible solution sooner than thought about sponsors. Talked to Trevor at work today, owner of Slaughter Motorsport. He was in the paper for setting new land speed records last year on the salt in Aust. He rekons he get can Mickey Thompson to possibly sponsor the venture. I think he's just interested in persuing a different facet of racing. I told him its all talk at the moment, but i'll get back to him :P

http://slaughtermotorsport.com/

Trevor said as long as its not him driving (he ain't interested in 1000km of bulldust lol.) His specialty is fabrication.
Anyone have a donor car? We'll have to pick a class.

I'd join you Chris, would be so much fun (and hard work ) but worth it!

Would love to drive!

Oh and Chris I have a baja ute 58 model I think that would need some work but it might do the trick.

68 Baja - It's a growing pain!
58 Baja ute - and the pain spreads!
85 T3 Kombi - still growing
89 T3 Kombi - parts car
