1303 front hub and brake modify


Hi' all
'm after someone that can modify 944 front hub to fit 1303 spindle and make the caliper bracket to fit porsche brake.
My plan is to fit porsche brake and hub on to stock 1303 spindle. And run 5x130 porsche wheels.
Either modify 944 hub or customize new hub. I" ll supply hub and caliper.
If you can help me out. I'm in Sydney

Have a look at VeeDubEngineering (Canada I believe). As there are variations with which 944 parts you have, they do many different versions of what you require. Not cheap, but hey, you get what you pay for.
For the record, you need to make spacer rings to adapt the vw bearings into the 944 hubs and make the mount for the caliper. There are a few versions of caliper too....

If you have the complete early NA 944 hub, it will simply bolt straight onto the 1303 two bolt strut - it is exactly the same tang size and bolt spacing. Then there's no mucking around with bearing sizes, spacers and caliper brackets. It's all factory Porsche and no problems with having it engineered.

You will however need the 17mm lower ball joint from Kerscher in Germany who make it specifcally for this application.

You will also need slightly longer tie rods from Veedub Engineering in Canada (he knows the length you need). He was actually much cheaper than trying to get custom tie rods made locally in Brisbane from a VW specialist.

Hi' all
The reason I'm trying to use stock spindle coz don't wanna upset the camber and also the hub and brake are off 86 model 944 n/a. Sending the parts to Canada and back may cost me neary the same as do it here according to vdubengineering website they charge about $340 US. To make the hub fit type1 bearing and spindle. Then plus shiping cost. That's why i'm happy to pay someone local for same amout of money.

AS karmann141 said, the cheapest option is to change the spindles, ball joints and tie rods, then you have a complete bolt on set up without the need for adaptors and mods to the hub, you need to talk to a engineer about the changes you want to make.
