ATT. Mr M. Berry!

I can bring a pair of wide-5, 15X4.5 Mangels, with Hoosiers [and M12 studs to suit :smirk:] to W.Park.....so you don't have to run on those wheelbarrow tyres on the front. Matching rears too, if you want. Let me know.

Really quite disappointing especially when there are many VW drivers I know not currently on the list with cars quite capable of participating and making this annual VW Sprint something special.

And to the VW owners who don't necessarily own an outright race car, this is a perfect opportunity to stretch the legs and have a fun drive without watching for speed traps and stopping for traffic.

The perception that you need a top end race car is incorrect - a 36 hp bug or a stock street Golf is as much welcome and appreciated as a Sports Sedan Beetle or a chipped VR6. All you have to do is get off the couch and have a run - you'll wish you had done it sooner once the first lap is under your belt.

:lol:Ha ha....thanks heaps for the thought Greg.....the wheel barrow is much easier to push now that I've upgraded to real rubber on the bug......

I have definately the desire to come again. I am holding off entry at this stage as finances are tight, and of course, to drive or be a trailer queenie is still to be decided.
Craigs comments are on the money, it doesn't matter what you drive, even narrow beams and 135's have done it in the past ;)

Get those numbers up ladies and gents

2 more entries today. Non VW.

I've discovered that we're allowed to run up to 9 pairs at a time now at Wakefield so potentially more runs than before. Not that number of runs has ever been a problem for those sticking it out all day. By 3pm its usually a revolving door.

I would love nothing more then to go racing but unfortunately the last 8 months for me and my family have been nothing but hell and racing has the last thing on my mind or my wallet. With my 35 y/o wife recovering from breast cancer and unable to work, big medical bills, mortage and 3 young kids to support, my youngest 1 y/o, I have not been in the financial or mental position (let alone have the time) to do anything that relates to a car.. Hopefully with things getting back to normal and our family getting back on top of things, I mayhit the track at the end of the year. In the mean time the bug can sit in the shed and gather dust.

Well, I wish I could come to take up your offer Greg. I've had some things crop up with th car that prevent me from getting to the Nationals this year.
Good luck to everyone competing, I hope to be there next year to join in the fun :)
