1964 WD-40 ad (?!)

This ad for WD-40, supposedly a genuine ad from 1964, has been circulating recently.

It's very funny! But sadly it's a fake.

The company has always spelled it 'WD-40', with a hyphen. Cans had a black cap in the 1960s, not red. 'Passageways' is one word, not two. In the last line it should be 'It's', not 'Its' - with an apostrophe (short for IT IS). And even though the paper is crinkled, the text remains straight and true.

Nice bit of photoshopping.

I've seen that before. Probably in the late 60s or early 70s. You bought them from joke shops etc.

I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!
