SOLD

So, 640+ views, 0 enquiries ??
Either Kombi's are not selling in Australia or people just want a bargain!!

Well lets test that theory...........

For 48 hours, my Kombi is now priced at $13000 as is where is but does NOT include the front middle seat.
This is available for $800 as a separate sale

I purchased this bus from Ikombi restorations and had it in storage for a year, recently the van has had a roadworthy and 12 months NSW rego, it was fitted with brand new 17inch fuchs and new tyres, had $6000 spent in tidying up van including repair of bumpers front and rear, new carpet kit front and rear, new 17inch 3 spoke sports steering wheel, minor rust repaired in tailgate, new window rubbers all round.
The van was originally purchased with no motor and has now been replaced with a type 4 1800 with 1800 gearbox.
The van has been lowered with adjusters at front and turned splines at rear
The van is quiet rare in that it is plated 2/73 build but keeping all low light features, this van is a 9 seater plated deluxe microbus, I have also purchased a front middle seat and a near new back middle sea all in matching trim colour.
Whilst this van is very straight, clean and dry, it does have some blemishes.
The van is fitted with a pioneer DVD player and has gauges (currently not connected) for oil, volts and temp.
All other gauges work including fuel and has deluxe gauge with clock.
The van was not supplied with door lock keys, so a key will need to be cut, the van can be locked with ignition key by sliding door
The van is currently stored in VIC (Shepparton) though can be transported back to NSW
Current pictures will be uploaded today, the picture attached is whilst work was being done at Ikombi
$17000

Nice, its a 72 though, not a 73. Irrespective of what it may be plated, that's just when it was complianced. Third digit in chassis No. will be a 2, indicating a 1972 model year. Just sayin....

while it looks very good and is a lowlights...
the key issue for me....there is no word on reliability or details of the blemishes!
there are 5 question marks which slow buyers decision making down. imo.

it needs clarification re moving the van....is it not reliable enough to drive ? (yes has rwc but what plates??)
have you put it on other sites? what pics from interior??
most peeps are with family holidaying atmo and have made plans for $$

hope it helps......lots of kombis 4 sale.....good luck

want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!

To maybe help any potential buyers,

The bus was owned personally by Claudio at Ikombi, after I purchased the bus Ikombi cleaned up and replaced all window rubbers, fixed a small rust spot in the tailgate and also replaced bottom inner nose cone, Ikombi has blown in paint to match but no 1 blemish, paint is slightly faded on rear (as seen in photos)
Carpets have been placed throughout the bus and interior door cards are very good but no 2 blemish, have speakers indoor kick panels, dash is very clean and no cracks in rubber no 3 blemish, extra gauges have been installed under radio. A new 3 spoke wheel was fitted and a new key barrel as the keys were not supplied with vehicle no 4 blemish, does not have key for door locks (though ignition key does lock sliding door), the vehicle had a 1800 motor and gearbox fitted that was taken out of a running vehicle, once installed new fuel lines, filters and a tune up was given, no 5 blemish, the twin carbs have some wear in them, no 6 blemish, the exhaust has a small hole.
I then fitted brand new fuch wheels and tyres (value of $1700) and the car was passed for RWC, then registered in NSW for 12 months (value of $1400).
The car was then transported to me in Shepparton where the car was driven daily, the car was then 1800 wet and dried and polished no 7 blemish, chrome deluxe strips are marked dented and scratched.
It also had brand new drive shafts put in (value $500)
Overall this vehicle is a 9 seater deluxe low light that looks good, drives fine and has 8 months rego, it has all its 9 seats (though if sold at cheaper price will not include middle front dicky seat), no 8 blemish, the gearbox does whine at lower speeds.
The bus is original and dry and whilst there are plenty of buses for sale with brand new paint no 9 blemish, this is as near to original as you could find.
The vehicle is in Shepparton and I have been transferred to NSW currently and then will be doing 6 months in QLD, I am unable to get to more photos of the vehicle at present, I am happy to transport the vehicle back to Sydney, take more photos and readvertise at $17000 or discount the price and let any one that knows the true value of these buses get a good buy, though they will need to pick it up from its current location, furthermore if the buyer is in SA or Vic I am happy to get the vehicle registered in that state (at additional cost)
If you look at Ikombi facebook you will see work of the bus and I am sure if you rang Claudio he could give you a run down on the bus.
On the word of reliability, I would drive it to NSW tomorrow, though lets all remember they are Kombis!!
I have advertised it on this site as being a member base forum it would be seen by current owners who may know of friends, family looking for a kombi and the site has quite a few guest visitors on the for sale forum.
I can be contacted on 0412 855590 and hopefully can answer any question if needed, I am also happy to sell the vehicle less wheels and tyres and less middle seat that is immaculate and can discuss a price with any who may be interested.
