Is George of Classic Vee Dub still alive??

I have emailed him 7 times now asking him to call me and rang over 180 times...yes 180, always user busy....
I placed an order on 24th Feb, got 3/4 of it 3 weeks ago, still waiting for the rest.
Half of what is missing I have paid for.

Anyone live nearby to check for vital signs?
I don't know what else to do....Office of fair trading?
Very frustrating, could have got the lot from the States, quicker and cheaper....

How sad that this is a regular story.......
Imagine how good a business it could be if it was run professionaly..............
Have bought parts from him before and the longest wait i had was 2 weeks, will think more than twice before ordering again........

Never,ever, ever again.

He could advertise at half the price and I would not go near him. Maybe OK if you go in person, but by mail order? Forget it.

Just like my experience. I ordered some bits as stated above, but 3 weeks and i hadn't heard from him. So i went to Mick Motors to buy the same bits, who were more expensive, but more helpful. I asked Mick if he was still there, he said yes, it would probably be 6 months till you hear from him, so i bought the bits at Micks. It was 6 months and 1 day till i got my parts.. :( :grind:

Still no replies, 20 odd calls to landline and mobile yesterday...

$1300+ order with parts missing....

If any of you city dwellers are visiting George, could you please mention order number 30040 and ask him to check his inbox and sort this mess out!

That would be very much apreciated.

Thanks all !

Frustrated Dave!

Checked the website, yesterday - Classic VW is closed, this weekend.

Have never ordered parts online, but have purchased in store quite a few times. The service from George was good.

Sorry to hear your online/phone experience hasn't been too good.

What website are you looking at?

The one I am using has no info regarding opening times etc.

Could anyone who is privaliged to talk to him ask him to look at order 30040 or read his emails before I call the office of fair trading?

He is taking the P**S

Maybe someone should email George a copy of this thread and the other one that mentions him. Seems some people find him ok to deal with while others aren't satisfied. perhaps if he knew that he might change his business practices.

He doesn't reply to e mails either....

I either have to drive 8+ hours (or fly) to say hello or open a case with the office of fair trading.

Is there anyone local to him that can ask him to contact me re order 30040

over 200 phone calls, 10 emails to 2 addresses, nothing....

Thanks
Dave

There must be someone who could have a word to George, on Dave's behalf ?

I rarely travel to Sydney these days - can't stand the place - otherwise I would call in.
