Drop spindles and speedo cable -no room

Has anyone had issues refitting speedo cable to drop spindles? There is no give in the cable on turning and looks like cable will sheer off.

What is a solution?

What brand of drop spindles are you using?
I used empi ones, and they were fine for me... :)

Perhaps you need to fit a slightly longer speedo cable?
One from a super should do the trick.

I have EMPI spindles and no issue with mine either.

Have you checked to make sure your cable is routed right and there is no slack anywhere from speedo to spindle that would give you the "missing" length?

Spindles are fitted proper now. There is enough length in cables.

Dah!

Now tell me how many shims/spacers should I put into pins. Originally had 8 in each. New pins came with 10. Measured it all up but still a bit slack.

?????

Models vary.
So this is a 1960 - right?
