What are the best Ball Joints and Tie Rods

I have a 68 beetle and want to replace some worn components.
The advice I get seems to be very confusing about how long some of these components are lasting and where they are being made.

The consensus seems to be that not much is made in Germany regardless of what is says on websites or on the outside of boxes.

So far it appears to be:

1. Meyle is not very good and Chinese even though they advertise Meyle Germany
2. Febi/Bilstein - low price -made in China?
3. Lemfoerder - can't find a source of the OE
4. TRW - used to be good, now iffy
5. Moog - supposedly good,

Does anyone have any experience either of what's on offer by our sponsors, other local suppliers of O/S please?

I would but they all say their's are the best.

I'm looking for a recommendation from a user, not a seller.

But if you have them, what's the best?

I just fit a set of Febi ones to my buggy, they are made in Germany, well the box is and they are stamped Germany as well. Appear to be well made. Weren't very expensive either. Got mine from just kampers.

It will all be OK in the end, if it's not OK it's not the end!

Thanks vduboy. That's exactly the recommendation I needed.
