Volksconversions on the Gold Coast sell a generic type, but you may be better off finding a local fabricator to make something to suit your car

i got mine from CIP1 to Brissy (before moving to Adelaide), but will be disposing sometime this year I rekon, as i want one I can be confident will be able to tow. I zapped up a plate for a hilux tow ball but I don't feel confident in it.

Worked well... pity I haven't shelved it yet as I would be offering your way living in the same town. How soon were u chasing?

None the less, if you find a local manuf in Adelaide, let me know. Otherwise, wanna fab 2 together?

Cage is the easy bit, I just used two bits of tube, weld on two studs to hold the tube (with nuts), and bent about some ricer mesh from supercheap or similar with self tapping screws / washers to hold together.

It would be best to build it yourself or have it made locally. That way you know it will fit with your setup. And you can design it how you want. And make sure you make it plenty tough, cause 4WDs are heavy when you have to tow them out when they get stuck!!!:lol::lol:

Halfway down page 11 of my build I run through a pretty basic rear bar. If I were to do it again I wouldn't put the 50mm box in the middle, it reduces the strength of the cage too much. I added it to I could make a tyre carrier that would slide into it, it never happened.

http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=80275&page=11

Typically the cage is two bits of tube that are bent up at the back and run under the car, either to the two large bolts that are under the back of the gearbox, or forward and around the torsion housing. Ideally to both, if you run the tubes down the sides of the frame horns you can easily add two tabs made of flat bar which will go under those large gearbox bolts.
Then you have a cross piece at the back which is your tube that is as wide as your rear tyres. I am going to make this higher on my next one. Somewhere just under the tail lights looking from the rear.
Then you have your two top tubes. These normally go forward, under the rear guards and tie into your upper rear shock bolt. Most people also run a plate off the top of this and bolt it through the rear wheels wells with a doubler plate on the side. I will post a picture below.

And here is a bit of inspiration for you. You can see that there are a lot of different shapes and sizes, but most of them follow along the same lines.

You can see in this picture the forward part of the upper tube. Just ignore the extra shock and coil, they were removed after this picture anyway.
It ties into the upper shock bolt, and you can see the plate that goes off the top and is bolted through the wheel well. You can also see that the tube is flanged at the back so you don't have to remove everything to get the barwork off, you can unbolt it at the sides of the engine bay.

Hope this helps mate!!
