cost of putting a ej20 into a Baja

Hey trying to decide whether to put a bigger vw motor into my baja or a subaru . Trying to figure out pricing . Subaru motors are way cheaper but with all the extras and putting into a workshop will it cost lots ?

I haven't done this, but my thoughts if you want a 'Drive in and Drive out' they would charge you at least $10k for supply and fit. Its a bloody lot of work going Subaru and especially if you are paying someone to do all the labour. Would be even more if going a turbo Suby motor.

Talk to Shane at Cooroy with the Grey Baja Bug, he did the Subaru install himself, and hasn't looked back

Graham there is a little bit of Black paint left! Lol. Mine cost just under 3k but I did it all except loom cut down and exhaust. This was a 3-4 yrs ago so allow more obviously. Ej22 would be a good option. Micheal if your interested come and have a look. You wont go back!!!

Hi Ron,

that list above you mentioned is just over $2000, but still have to add the cost of the engine and all the labour to fit this stuff as required by 'ancientbugger' so that is why I guesstimated $10k, unless you want to do it for him and make a few bucks along the way ;)
