Country Buggy Black Paint

What is the correct VW black paint used on a Country Buggy?

Is it L041?

Is the paint used on the bonnet latches, VW emblems, wheels and hub caps flat, semi gloss, or glossy black paint?

Not sure of the number but it was a semi gloss as far as I can tell. Nothing I've seen looks full gloss, but then it has been almost 50 years. Used to use something we called "Holden 60/60 low sheen" for any of that sort of thing. Same as on the black bits of a Torana etc. This was proper acrylic, not crappy chassis black.
I got a couple of NOS Standard hub caps but I had to blast and paint some chrome ones too. The painter said "sure you want to wreck this nice chrome?". Too right I did.
Cheers
Tony
