'54 back on the road.
Almost completely original. No body-work replaced, just tidied up. Paint-work touched up where necessary. New brakes, tyres, and a few minor bits
replaced, but not a 'restoration'.
Speedo shows 22k miles...and I reckon it's original!
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

6v valve radio, that takes a while to 'warm up'. Only problem it only picks up modern AM stations.

As long as it picks up the cricket modern am radio is ok!
Car looks great! Nice that it's just brought back to the road and not torn apart needlessly

Not long Dave...3or 4 years, maybe.
I've got the original Boge rear shocks apart, and they are good inside. Will fit new seals, oil, and rubber bushes. Should last another 60 years.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Why did u pull them apart if they were leaking good for ever
you will have to get rid of that seat belt bolt above the rear window
Post some interior pics will you we all want to see the headliner and trims

I pulled the shocks apart BECAUSE THEY WERE LEAKING !!! Getting new seals to-morrow, and will put them back together, and re-fill with shock oil.
The seat belt bolts have been there for a long time...SO THEY ARE STAYING !!!
All interior is original, including floor rubber mats. Driver's seat looks to have been repaired, and the stitching has parted in places. No action
planned.
Photos are not my priority, but will appear one day.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Wow, stunning car. What is it with '54 beetles, that makes 3 I am aware of with less than 50k miles from new and excellent unrestored condition.
Maybe in '54 people wanted them as museum pieces?
Good to see them on the road and well loved.

Nuts! Anyone know how many bugs came in 1954? I have a black one too but not as shiny as this!
