silicone gaskets


OK so the oil change gaskets have started to leak a bit ????
anyone had any dealings with the silicone ones ????
where can i get them ????
are they better than the cardboard ones ?????
how much ??????

yeah tried that.... was fine for a couple of months and now a very small drip

thought silicone gaskets would be a set and forget option
can boris get them ?????

no check the plate again and make sure the area around the holes is flat

go to super cheap and get a tube of sticoflex great for all oil leaks but clean and pre sol surfaces before applying

are you using the copper washer and acorn nuts

You can get a very high quality Billet aluminium plate and continue to use the paper gaskets with no adhesive. works for me. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SCAT-BILLET-OIL-SUMP-PLATE-KIT-VW-BUGGY-OFFROAD-BU...

Just remember the correct torque for the 6mm studs at 7NM
