extractors


hi there my muffler took a hit and is now backfiring like a biartch so i think its time to update my exhaust. looking for extractors and exhaust. its going on a bog stock 1600(good nick) in my girlfriends car can any one recomend a type and were to source in melb. would like to retain twin pipes style . dont need heaters as moving to west oz in near future. if i change exhaust will i need to adjust carbie (34 pict) cheers. Might by two as im building a hotty for my bug so better perf end of range will be considered.

Thunderbird extractors are good, doesn't have the "twin outlet" though, instead it has a hotdog muffler with single outlet. And yes you will need to "jet" up your carbie, usually one jet size, otherwise you will burn exhaust valves.

Try one of your local guys, eg VolksPower: a set of bugpack extractors should set you back less than a stocker... You prolly won't need to re-jet with a stock 34 and filter as they're pretty rich to start.

If you do move west, cruise down South Tce in Freo and pay Kurt a visit...
