Swap 2.0 for 1.8?

What's involved in replacing a 2.0L kombi motor with a 1.8L motor? Presumably it won't just bolt on to the gearbox...

This has come up often, so double check with old posts!!
From memory you need to swap flywheel & clutch to run a 1.8L motor on the 2L GB.

Yeah I did try the search function but got nothing.

So do you mean that if I got the flywheel and clutch along with the 1.8L it would bolt straight onto my gearbox? That sounds do-able!

The way I try to remember it is think of the GB + clutch + flywheel + starter as one unit, and the motor without flywheel as a unit.
Then you can swap them over.

Can anyone else confirm this is correct??

If you swap the Bellhousing, Input shaft & Starter Motor with 1800 items then the 1800 motor, flywheel & clutch will bolt in
