Beep-Beep (Horn wire broken)
:cry
Aaaarrrggghhhh !!!!!
Can anyone help ?
Trying to fix my horn and discovered two important things,,,
1: The Horn itself is dead and,,
2: The wire that earths the horn to make it go BEEp-Beep has been severed where it comes out of the bottom of the steering assembly..
Anyone know if you can run another wire through without pulling the whole thing out ? Shes a Kombi (73),, Only thing I've found on this is in
John Muirs book that says Dont Pull The Wire Out as its hard to replace.
Is it legal to put the button on the dash?
Help !
Dave

:sandrine Hi Dave
I had to move my horn as it was too much trouble to fix, so my auto electican had to reposition it.
It passed road worthy so no big deal.
As long as you have one & it goes I guess.

you could try to put it thru with stiff wire and heat shrink the elec wire to it so you can just pull it thru....prob from the bottom???

Decided to go for the re-wire horn on the dash,,,
Tried to feed anything down where the origional wire goes was not good,(frustrating too),,
Wonder where to get a cool horn button ?
