Has anyone on the list ever heard of, or know of someone that has tried, an oxyboxer conversion? Is there anyone out there that does Oxyboxer conversions? Also any opinions out there on stainless steel studs for a wasserboxer?:beer

The shoptakforums forum:
http://www.shoptalkforums.com/
has a special section for Wasserboxer/Oxboxer information.

In Australia, I understand that Hellbug may have done some conversions some time ago.

The weaknesses of Type I engines which Oxyboxer conversions address, in particular case/bottom end strength, are also addressed by Type IV engines, and the latter conversion seems to be more popular.

thanks for the help. Can anyone answer the question of stainless steel studs though? Are they worth it? Where would I start looking if I was going to put a type 4 motor in my Caravelle?:P

Not sure about stainless. But the ARPM studs are apparently the way to go. They could be stainless. Not sure. Ask here: http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=a352e5e39ed0e42b2126d...

You would be better off with new VW Studs no stuffing around.

Just change the coolant regularly

The man in the Know...

Why not get in touch with "Shimo" (one of the partners in HELLBUG), he was the guy that turned the spanners on ALL the oxyboxer engines. I think he is working down at Dunham Automotive near Woollongong.
