History of Aussie '76 Beetles?


Does anybody have info on where 1976 Aussie Beetles were made?was it Broadmeadow in Victoia?Ant history would be great!My baby wants to know where she was born!

Best Beetle to Own... 1976..


As far as I know it was still at the original CLAYTON Victoria VW factory...
I would like to know the percentage of German parts used in the car. I thought they may be CKD kit cars.
(Completely Knocked Down kits) and assembled here, but they may have used some Australian parts like glass etc...
I don't know how many were made in '76 but they didn't sell them all and were still selling them in 1977.
Nissan bought the factory to produce Datsun cars .
After all that - they are probably the best beetle to own!!! IMHO...
