type 1 CV Joints - with larger Ball bearings
I have just disassembled My two rear axles and 2 of the CV joints had a small amount of pitting. I found I had two used CV Joints in good
condition left over from when I did My Son's beetle's rear axles a couple of years ago.. I had to disassembly & clean 5 or 6 axles to find some
good CVJs, that is without any pitting. Now one of these Constant Velocity Joints looked very new, but the Ball Bearings were MUCH larger than the
standard type found on a type 1, and looked much stronger, it also seemed ?? to pivot further than the standard CVJ. Can anyone tell Me what this CV
Joint was off ?? 914 - type 3 or 4 ?? the bolt holes and the Outside diameter were the same as the normal type 1 CV Joints... fitted the new
"LOBRO" boots... etc...
