EJ20T in a Bug...Can it be done with out loosing the torsion bars?

Here's one I would like to know.....
I haven't taken a tape measure to my car yet but......

EJ20T in a Bug...Can it be done with out loosing the torsion bars?

Like maybe if I lifted the engine and transaxle up & forward we might make it in there!!!!Anyone have a chassis sitting around with a spare box floating about....Just to mock this idea up.

Most of the Bugs that have this engine in have done it this way and they are running far bigger boxes too...Like Porsche and Reno boxes...Way big and not really nessesary I reckon as my brothers Notch still runs a T1 based box on an EJ20T(5 years and counting).

Someone check this out....If it can be done I maybe selling off all my aircooled turbo gear.......

Yeah Marks has an IRS...I have an IRS chassis sitting in the shed......The idea is to do that up to stick under the bug. The next time I get to have gander at MArks car I'll measure all over.....I reckon the width might be an issue too. At the timing cover specifically.

More than likely, unless I find a bargain elsewere. Gotta sell the aircooler performance gear first though....And I have another 15 months of UNI to get through B4 anything happens with the toys!
