fuel line indentification.

Can anyone post what each of the marked fuel lines do?
Fuel in, return and carbon canister?

I doubt that fuel lines would be simple hose clamps on a late-model Subie???? Evap/charcoal cannister would be piped to the TB, return would be from the pressure regulator (on fuel rail) and 'fuel in' direct to the fuel rail ??

In MY 1993 EJ22 (in an '82 Transporter):
C = Canister
B = Return
A = Fuel in

In the Haynes US Manual (Pub. no 89100, covers 1990-1998 Legacies) I have

A = canister
B = Return
C = Fuel in

You can trace the canister connection by blowing into each of the three tubes successively. If you have the canister (near air cleaner) disconnected, ONE of these three lines should be vented where it would be connected to the (black plastic) canister. Because I ALSO had another source of 'reliable' information about the return and supply fuel lines, I was totally confused. The symptom of a mistake with the fuel and return lines is that the engine won't start!!. For me, this was the ONLY thing that prevented my transplant from starting - and I had done all the computer/sensor wiring myself. The wiring was MOST satisfying. Well worth the effort!

Dave

PS The haynes Manual is worth the money. The Chilton manual I have is NOT.
