One for the carb and induction gurus

I have a type3 1600 with twin standard 32PDSIT carbs.

I have put carb kits through and cleaned both carbs.
I have replaced the fuel lines and fuel filter
I have replaced the flexible hoses on the equalisation/balance pipes (this had two not the one)

Prior to carrying this out engine ran rough but would idle all but a little higher than normal

the problem now is the engine won't idle and only runs whilst revving.
If you hold the throttle at half it will die unless you keep revving it.
Have tried to set up as per manual instructions but this is
difficult because it won't idle.
I'm going to play some more this arvo but if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.
It appears both carbs may be doing the same thing.
I don't believe I have any air leaks but will look further.

Thanks

Idle jets - are they the electrical cut off ones ? check for a click when you put power to them if they are. No click and you arent getting fuel through the idle circuit.

Did you check the float levels ?

that was it thanks Adrian

Little bit more to it than that but basically that was the problem.
Someone had the wires to the shutoff valves going to the wrong side of the coil. Plus one wire was broken and one shuttoff dodgy.
But now purring.
Will tune properly now
Thanks again
